Cocoa Beach Get-away
(with Zane before he went into the Army)
Zane Brown, a good friend who is following God's leading into the Army, was looking a five year contract in the face.  We knew it had to be now or never (5 years seems like "never" sometimes), so we did another short notice vacation.  We met up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, because the flight was cheap.
Ok, I walked up to the counter of the car rental place, and the guy says, "For only $12 more per day you could have a red convertible."  You can't just tell a young guy that!  What was I to do?  So yeah, that's it.  It was actually one of the highlights of the trip.  It was so much better cruisin' in that thing than whatever else it was we were going to get.  How fun is that?
Oh...and it worked for transporting surfboards, too!

We wouldn't have traded it for a truck!  You gotta love drivin' around with surfboards hangin' out of your convertible!

We rented these boards at Ron Jon Surf Shop.
One of the days we drove up to Daytona Beach.  You could drive up and down that one and rent all kinds of stuff.  It was kinda cool, but we liked Cocoa better.  We couldn't leave til we got a shot of the car on Daytona Beach, though...

I got quite a lot of sun driving around with that top down all the time..oops.
Here we are in front of the all-famous, Ron Jon Surf Shop.  This was just a block over from our hotel.  It was a fun place and glowed blue at night.

One of the nights we went out to eat with some people we met on the beach that worked for NASA.
God bless you, Zane, as you serve God and this country in the Army!  The trip was an absolute blast and I'll remember it forever.

Thanks!

Sorry I don't have more pictures..= (
Ok, we didn't exactly get a picture of us surfing because we were busy...well....surfing!  So this will have to do.

But it was great surfing!  We had some real nice waves, especially the last day!

We'd surf for a while, then play beach volleyball, then layout, surf, v'ball, etc.  It was a busy schedule but we managed. = )
