Trip 2003! |

In
August of 2003, a mission team of 8 of us flew down to Jerez, Mexico,
for a mission trip. We were there for nearly two weeks and in that
time God answered SO many prayers and did miracles literally
everyday! It was an awesome time of ministry, growth and
blessing. Here are a few pictures from the trip. (thanks to
Kristina Rohner) |
These
are the missionaries that we worked with down there. Dan and
Debbie Giles on the left, and Todd and Barbara Schierkolk with their
three girls - Rachel, Megan and Kirstie. It was SO fun getting to
know them. We learned so much from them and they were such a
blessing to us! We miss 'em! |
Here
are some pictures of some of the ways we were able to serve while we
were down there. We cleaned the church from top to bottom and had
fun doing it. Then one night we moved in the new pastor. The
moving truck arrived at midnight and that's when we moved him in.
It was stealthy... = ) |
This
was after the biggest VBS we had down there. We prayed for 45 and
God brought 65 kids plus parents! We were able to sing, do skits,
tell stories, give out treats and bracelets and do crafts and
face-painting. This was the face-painting crew - Kristina,
Christen, Lacey, and Kim. That was a fun night! (actually, they
all were) |
Is
this the guys bathroom? "M" stands for "Man",
right? Guess again, Henry. The nice little red bucket is for
flushing. Just go ahead and dip out a nice bucket-full from the
blue one and dump it into the throne and all your problems will be
washed away. "I'll
show you, you stupid cactus!!" -- Don't try this at home... =
). (right) Below
we have our famous beetle on the wall of the hotel. Kristina
sacrificially gave him one of her potato chips. Poor cute little
thing. = ) yum! And
the picture at right is a torrential rain
storm that we had after church. The
street became a river...and it was lots
of fun! (Kristina and Christen in the
river...road...thing...) This
was a group picture after the fun in the rain. This was the night
that would would spend a lot of time in the rain. There was a flat
tire on the way home in a rain storm and the spare tire and the pump
were also no good. But God was watchin' out for us, and He did the
whole trip! Thanks for your prayers! |
This
is the team in the airport. We flew over the night of my 25th
birthday - hence the huge yellow 25. = ) I carried it on the
airplane an all the way to and from Mexico. |
Speaking
of birthday...(we'll move on in a sec...) The missionaries planned
a surprise birthday party the night we arrived. It was mexican
style! Complete with a band, pinata, food and games. It was
quite unforgettable. |
We
did a lot of mimes and skits in different settings while we were
there. This was a church in Zacatecas. This skit demonstrated
the seriousness of sin. |
